With the tractor on the Tuerredda dunes to cut precious (and protected) juniper wood. The environmental criminal was caught and denounced by the Forestry rangers of the Teulada and Pula stations, who intervened after numerous reports had arrived in 1515 on the havoc in progress in the pearl of the south-western coast of Sardinia.

The witnesses, explained by the Forest Service, reported «that a person, ignoring the prohibitions, had entered with a heavy tractor with a trailer on the beach of Tuerreda, in the territory of Teulada. The individual, after plowing through the delicate dune system with the heavy vehicle», they say from the via Biasi command, «uprooted large dry trunks of juniper and acacia, loading them onto the trailer to transport them to his own company».

Rangers rushed to the scene and found the manager still unloading logs. Which were seized together with the tractor and trolley. The man was reported for the crimes of aggravated theft and damage to the delicate protected environment.
«Vegetation, even dry vegetation, constitutes an important natural barrier against erosion and favors the normal dynamics of the dunes», is the warning, «Every alteration, even the slightest, in this delicate environment, constitutes a potential danger for the structure of the dune environment. Thanks to the prompt intervention of the Forestry Corps, further destabilization of the dunes was avoided, both with the passage of the tractor and with the extraction and removal of further trunks".
