A journey to rediscover the most authentic Sardinia aboard the 1967 443-2002 locomotive and the 1933 “Terrazzini” type carriages. This is how the Sardinian Historical Trains Association “Sardegnavapore” organized a trip from Cagliari station to San Gavino Monreale station on Sunday 6 November on board the 1967 locomotive to participate in the saffron exhibition.
The historic train will leave from 9.05 at Cagliari station to reach San Gavino Monreale at 10.40. In the morning, tourists will be free to visit the stands of the saffron exhibition in the historic center of the town. At 1 pm the appointment will be with lunch with typical dishes of the Sangavinese tradition seasoned with saffron while in the afternoon it will be possible to visit the museum of the Two Foundries.

The historic train will leave from the San Gavino railway station at 18.20 to arrive in Cagliari at 19.35.

Those who want to participate must sign up to Marino Piu (tel. 334-7165216), one of the members of “Sardegnavapore”. "We want to spread the history of rail transport and our experiences to young people who have not known all this".
