The regional council approved two resolutions to allocate 8,730,000 euros to 53 Sardinian municipalities for natural disasters of all kinds that occurred between 2018 and 2022 .

Strong wind, hailstorms, drought: "We intervened to also allow for some structural interventions for risk reduction, the restoration of infrastructure and safety conditions in some areas affected by the event of November 28, 2020", said Christian Solinas referring to the Bitti flood.

The regional councilor for the defense of the environment explained the stage of the civil protection investigations: « The inspections were carried out and the technical-administrative checks of the reports presented by 18 municipalities were completed for a total amount of 837,813 euros. For another 21 local authorities, the preliminary investigations amounting to 2,822,367 euros are being completed. Finally, for another 18 Municipalities it has already been possible to make an initial estimate of the damages and related costs necessary for the execution of works and emergency interventions for a total amount of 1,015,387 euros. These last sums are, of course, susceptible to variations on the basis of the report that will be presented».

Two funds have also been set up to deal with the damage caused by the flood that hit the Nuorese area in 2020, devastating the town of Bitti: one for private individuals and production activities, the other for interventions on public assets.

«For urgent interventions on public assets we have allocated over 4 million euros – underlined commissioner Porcu -. For other structural interventions, additional resources will be available, approximately 11 million euros, which will be programmed with a subsequent provision of the Regional Council».

This is the breakdown of the first allocation for four Municipalities : Galtellì 1,070,000 euros; Lodè 1,000,000; Lula 1,100,000; Nuoro 885,000.
