The committees against wind energy speculation are back on the streets . Still under the Regional Council in via Roma in Cagliari even if, explains one of the coordination representatives, Marco Pau, "we have nothing more to ask of politics than what we have already asked for". And yet, «we are here to remind you that the issue still exists, aggravated by their inertia and we will remember this behavior when elections come . In general, no one in the Sardinian Assembly behaved well. Naturally the responsibilities are different: the majority has more responsibility than the minority which, in any case, could have made much more opposition than it did. We are not saving anyone and we will take other actions during the electoral campaign."
Today the committees reiterated the importance of the proposed law on the moratorium which provides for an energy plan for Sardinia tailored to the needs and historical consumption of the territories, and recalled that they are not against the energy transition, if anything they are for an ecological energy transition .
Around a hundred demonstrators and all the coordination committees against energy speculation attended the sit-in .
Among others, Rita Corda , spokesperson for Selargius's “No Tyrrhenian link: «We demonstrate yet another disappointment against an incapable political class that has not defended the prerogatives of a special Region, allowing wind and sun speculators to pounce on Sardinia presenting projects and planting shovels without planning and without taking into account local administrations or the prerogatives of communities".
Also in via Roma is the newly formed Gallura Committee against energy speculation represented by Agostino Peru: « Of the 2300 shovels covered by multinational projects, 600 concern our territory . If these projects passed, Gallura would be gutted. We don't want to turn our land into a wind farm for the benefit of Singapore-based multinationals." Pietro Solinas, of the Montiferru committee, recalls the project of nine shovels to be installed in Seneghe, so high that - in the event of a fire - they would prevent fire-fighting vehicles from flying over the area.
