Wind energy, an island in revolt: the assault on the towers in the Sarcidano and Nuoro areas
Less than a month for the observations on the two wind farms of Rwe and Saras in Isili, while the Superintendence rejects the photovoltaic plant proposed in Perd'e Cuaddu. The mayors: «Nothing against renewables, but projects to share»Per restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
The lords of the wind (and the sun) assault the Sarcidano . An assault which, at least as regards the solar plant, was temporarily stopped by the Special Superintendence for the recovery and resilience plan. However, the countdown has begun for the two wind farms : all interested parties (from municipalities to local superintendencies through to environmental committees and associations) will have one month to present their observations regarding Via's request ( Environmental impact assessment).
THE PROJECTS – The first deadline, March 10, concerns the project presented by Rwe Renewables Italia srl : with the "Lobadas" project, the Roman company would like to install twelve blades of 7.2 megawatts each in the municipalities of Mandas, Escolca, Serri and Isili . Three days later, however, the deadline for comments on the project presented by Sardeolica srl expires: the company belonging to the Saras group aims, instead, to place seven turbines 119 meters high at the hub of 7.2 megawatts each in Isili while the works connections concern the Municipalities of Nurallao, Nuragus and Genoni.
However, a rejection has already arrived from the Superintendence on three lots, the most urbanised, relating to the photovoltaic system of Sardinian Solar Energy Isili srl.
IN THE NUORESE AREA - Meanwhile yesterday, from a joint municipal council open to the public, the unanimous no to the Nuoro-Orgosolo-Oliena wind farm came. In support are the mayors of Dorgali, Orani, Sarule, Oniferi, Mamoiada, Fonni, Urzulei, Olzai, Ottana. «We are not against renewable energy – they explain – but against these modes of colonialism supported by those above us. We should be the ones producing and selling outside, without being exploited."
