A new case of Nile Fever was found in a town in the Oristano area . The contagion, according to the communication of the Prevention Department of the Oristano Asl, was reported in Riola Sardo. It is a woman who is hospitalized in the Medicine ward of the “San Martino” hospital in Oristano for some neurological symptoms .

This is the fifth case of West Nile Virus in Sardinia after the four already confirmed by the monitoring of the Istituto Superiore di Sanità last 15 September.

The mayor of Riola Sardo Lorenzo Pinna has issued an ordinance which requires, "to avoid the definitive or temporary abandonment in public and private open spaces, including terraces, balconies and flat roofs, of containers of any nature and size in which it can collect. rainwater and avoid any collection of stagnant water, even temporary ".

In the meantime, the Municipality has commissioned a specialized company for the disinfestation against mosquitoes.
