The alarm cry of the mayors of the province who deliver the waste to the Arborea plant starts from Oristano.

Called upon by the leaders of the industrial consortium, the local administrators expressed, in the presence of the regional councilors of the area, their concern about the staggering increase in the tariff for the disposal of the dry fraction, which rose from 184 to 292 euros per ton , with a 54 percent increase .

A figure that could even skyrocket when, after that of Masangionis, even the Villacidro landfill (where pre-treated unsorted waste is currently transported) will reach its capacity limit and it will be necessary to transfer it to the Macchiareddu waste-to-energy plant.

"We have repeatedly asked the Region for an intervention to contain the increase in expenditure - said the president of the Industrial Nucleus Gianluigi Carta - but we have not had any answers".

The majority regional councilors had presented an amendment to the budget law, which was then withdrawn with the guarantee that the provision would be accepted by the associate who arrives in the Chamber in via Roma on Wednesday: one million euros for the current year, to meet the costs of depreciation of the Oristano plant. The relief would lead to a reduction in the tariff of 80 euros per tonne.

"The request - have assured Emanuele Cera, Annalisa Mele, Gianni Tatti, Diego Loi and Alessandro Solinas - will be renewed with a bipartisan commitment".

Closing of the works entrusted to the mayor of Oristano Massimiliano Sanna . «I am sure that our appeal will not fall on deaf ears and that the Region will be able to understand the difficulties which are not those of a municipality, but of the entirety of the communities of the province. We need an intervention for 2023 and at the same time a lasting solution that protects the budgets of the municipalities and those of families ».
