Waiting lists, chaos in hospitals: reservations suspended for various specialties
The case of a woman from Sassari, recalled by the ASL after the story in the newspaper. And at Businco, patients' concerns grow for the work in the operating roomsPer restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
The situation , in general, is dramatic . A bleak picture – CUP sources explain – for the ASL of Sassari, Gallura, Ogliastra, Nuoro , but also in the ASL 8 of Cagliari : booking is impossible , and patients do not know which saint to turn to.
The reference is not to waiting lists of many months for visits and tests , which unfortunately we have had to get used to on the Island, but to the lack of places for many services , "without priority". Yesterday, for example, a citizen who called the Single Booking Center was told that there is no availability for allergological, immunological, rheumatological, pneumological, nephrological visits (there would be some places in Quartu but at the end of the year), endocrinological visits (there is an Obesity clinic in via Romagna but it only receives obese patients, and not those who need to have thyroid checks), diabetological visits (appointments are offered in Ozieri and Thiesi, but obviously no one from Cagliari and the surrounding areas accepts them), dermatological visits (the first option is in May in Muravera or San Nicolò Gerrei). Electromyography is also not bookable at the moment , but because the new tariff nomenclature has come into force and they are updating the procedures, so we hope for a solution soon. For colonoscopy yesterday there were some places in 2027 and 2028. Mammography is guaranteed only to cancer patients , for prevention nothing to do.
Then there is the case of the odyssey of a woman from Sassari who had been unable to book an MRI for over a month, a story that ended when her story-denunciation was published in the newspaper . "As soon as the news was published, and I thank you very much for this, I received a series of phone calls and the doors opened wide," she explains. "But the fact is that I don't want a personal favor," adds Luana Farina, 67, who is also the founder of the movement Free Women Fighting for the Right to Health. "I want all the other people in my situation to have access to tests in adequate times."
Meanwhile, patients' concerns are growing about the work at Businco , with the opening of the construction site postponed to March but the issues still unresolved regarding the reorganization of the departments during the workers' intervention.
