"The complaints filed by women victims of violence are increasing also in Sardinia. We repeat: reporting is essential to escape from the cage and fear."

This is the message launched by the commander of the Carabinieri Legion of the Island, Brigadier General Stefano Iasson , on the occasion of the international day for the elimination of violence against women: a theme unfortunately always very current and complex, with constantly growing numbers.

"The police and the judicial authorities are doing their part," continues Iasson. "The red code allows for quicker interventions and the network present in the territory tries to bring preventive action. This year as Carabinieri we have already carried out more than 110 precautionary measures against people accused of violence and mistreatment of women, with over twenty arrests in flagrante delicto. " "As police forces," adds Daniele Credidio, commander of the provincial operational unit of Cagliari, "we have activated the "shield" system: information is shared on every intervention carried out in cases of violence. From reports to complaints so as to be aware of all the background when you are activated with a call for cases of gender violence."

In an attempt to get more and more victims to report, the short film "In Ascolto" was presented, produced in Italian and Sardinian, in collaboration between the Carabinieri and Rai, directed by Serena Schiffini . A message that aims to highlight the importance of reporting any violent behavior. "Not only the physical one, but also the economic one and above all the psychological one, sneaky and dangerous", Iasson highlights again.
