The evening between friends ended in bloodshed. First, a heated argument erupted, then a 35-year-old man struck his rival with a hacksaw, injuring him in the neck. Two weeks later, Jonathan Galliazzo ended up in jail. Preliminary Investigations Judge Cristiana Argiolas, at the request of prosecutor Andrea Chelo, ordered the attacker to be held in pretrial detention, charged with attempted murder.
The incident dates back to October 2nd, when three friends were spending an evening in Villaurbana, but things quickly became heated. There was an argument between Galliazzo and the woman, a 32-year-old from Villaurbana. The situation threatened to escalate, so the other friend, a 43-year-old fellow villager, intervened to try to defend the young woman .
In response, Galliazzo attacked the two men with a hacksaw. The young woman was struck in the head and face, while her friend, who had tried to defend her, was wounded in the neck just centimeters from the jugular vein (a vital area). Both were hospitalized, while the attacker was taken to the emergency room for evaluation.
Following the Carabinieri's investigation, the Court ruled: Galliazzo, defended by lawyer Katia Ledda, ended up in Massama prison.
