After having attempted the well-known mirror scam without success, they decided to resort to strong measures. They beat the elderly man to rob him of his empty wallet .

The episode happened last August in Villasor , and one of the two attackers was arrested yesterday in Livorno by the police, who executed a precautionary custody order in prison.

On the eve of August 15th , a 75-year-old farmer from Villasor , while driving his Polo, was approached by two people in a white car who forced him to stop. They accused him of damaging the rear-view mirror of their vehicle and asked for compensation, which the elderly man denied. Then they kicked and punched him, damaged his car with a metal bar and took his wallet , which contained only personal documents.

Disappointed by the poor results, the two ran away, but investigations by the Carabinieri of Villasor and Sanluri led to the identification of one of the two robbers, arrested yesterday. This is a twenty-year-old resident of Adrano (Catania) , already known to the police for previous similar "exploits".
