Villasimius, scattered the ashes of the two divers who died on May 5th into the sea

Last May 5th the tragic death at 107 meters deep . Today the funeral rite, with the ashes of divers Stefano Bianchelli and Mario Perniciano scattered by their families in the sea they loved so much.

The rite initially took place at the port of Villasimius in the presence of relatives and closest friends.

Then a small procession of rubber boats formed (including that of the Marita protected area) which set off to the point scheduled for the scattering of the ashes.

The tragedy occurred during a dive to reach the wreck of the steamship San Marco, sunk by the English during the Second World War.

As established by the examination carried out by the medical examiner Roberto Demontis on the two bodies, Bianchelli and Perniciano would have died from drowning.
