There is great anticipation for “The Tunisian Community Festival”, scheduled for tonight in the central Piazza Gramsci. A convivial and entertaining moment is planned, desired by the Tunisian community itself and organized in collaboration with the association “La Tartaruga”.

The women of the historic Tunisian community, present in Villasimius for decades, will prepare and serve an excellent couscous with vegetables and meat with typical Tunisian flavors. To follow, a taste of their fabulous desserts. All this will be offered to those present, accompanied by mint tea and traditional music played live by the Marzouk Mejri musical group. The evening will be animated by Katia Malika, a traditional dance teacher.

In Villasimius, fellow citizens of Tunisian origin have lived, worked and studied for over 40 years. This community, the largest among the many coming from abroad, numbers over a hundred women, men, boys and children.

It is a young community, with an average age of around 35 and four members per family unit.

There are many young couples who have put down roots in Villasimius and even more families who have chosen this place as their home in the village.
