A stolen car in Quartu was recovered by the Vallermosa Carabinieri, who charged two people with receiving stolen goods and money laundering.

The investigation began after several residents reported a suspicious Land Rover Evoque parked on a downtown street. The vehicle showed no signs of being broken into, but officers suspected it might be stolen.

The checks confirmed the doubts: the license plate belonged to a Nissan Juke from a car rental company, while the Land Rover had been stolen on September 26 in Quartu.

On that occasion, the thieves had first stolen a Fiat Punto, inside which were kept the keys to the off-road vehicle, which they then used to take away the second vehicle.

Thanks to surveillance camera footage , the Carabinieri traced the identity of a couple living in Vallermosa: a 40-year-old unemployed man and a 41-year-old waitress, both already known to law enforcement. During the search of their home, the couple voluntarily handed over the keys to the vehicle, without clarifying how they had obtained it.

The Land Rover has been returned to its rightful owner, while the two suspects will now face charges before the judicial authorities. Meanwhile, the search for the stolen Fiat Punto continues.
