"I am very happy and very excited . For me it is a dream that finally comes true." These are the words with which Valentina Pitzalis , the 39-year-old from Carbonia who survived the attempted murder of Bacu Abis , tells about her new life with the bionic hand designed by Nexus , during the Exposanità exhibition in Bologna .

Pitzalis lost his hand in 2011, in the tragic stake in which her ex-husband, Manuel Piredda , who tried to set fire to her, together with the house and himself, was also killed.

At the end of 2021 Valentina, one of the women who symbolize the fight against feminicides , was the first to experience the robotic hand of Nexus ( VIDEO ) and today she tells her experience as follows: "After 10 years, I have my left hand again and not I look forward to learning how to use it to the fullest. I thank my family, the people dear to me, the associations, above all Fare x Bene, which allowed me to walk the road, often uphill , to get here. I still have a lot to do and achieve, but now I can say I'm a real Wonder Woman ! ".

"Nexus technology marks an epochal transition compared to previous prostheses - observes Roberto Ariagno , director of Officina Ortopedica Maria Adelaide , who hosted Valentina Pitzalis in its stand -. I am very happy that Valentina is the first person in Italy to be able to use this extraordinary tool. Surely it is a big change and this latest generation bionic hand will increase Valentina's quality of life, helping her in her daily life ".
