All reservations for the Little Green Train have been canceled at least until next spring. This is the result of the fires that broke out in recent days in the countryside between Macomer and Sindia , which also affected the tourist railway line, burning hundreds of wooden sleepers, thus preventing the Little Green Train from running .

It happened in Sindia less than ten days ago, and it happened again on Monday afternoon in the Bara area, near Macomer. The little green train is stopped again, awaiting repairs by ARST, which certainly won't happen anytime soon. " I believe the tourist season for the little green train is over ," observes Carlo Poledrini, general director of ARST . "The damage caused by the recent fires in that area is enormous, and the line won't be able to be restored anytime soon. We're assessing the damage and the potential repair costs. In any case, I don't think the travel schedule, at least for this year, can be maintained."

This is yet another train disruption, with the Esedra cooperative forced to cancel trips between Macomer and Tresnuraghes , severely impacting bookings. "We are forced to cancel tourist contracts acquired with foreign tour operators, " says president Rossana Muroni. "We are powerless in the face of this situation."

There is a real risk, in fact, that the situation will not return to normal anytime soon, as happened with the section between Tresnuraghes and Bosa Marina, which has now been closed for five years.
