As confirmed by the special commissioner Ats Massimo Temussi, on Thursday 16 December, also on the island with vaccines for children between the ages of five and eleven, an audience of about 47 thousand Sardinians.
The day before, 6,000 doses are expected to arrive ("microdoses, and we are trying to organize everything in collaboration with pediatricians," he adds). The next, more conspicuous shipment is scheduled for January 6.
Of the 6,000 vials, 1,000 will go to Brotzu and Aou in Sassari, who will directly call the children with pathologies being treated in their wards. The rest - reservations will be made on the usual site - will be distributed in some hubs, in Cagliari, another, more protected space could be set up at the Fair, otherwise the administration will take place at Binaghi; in Quartu there will be entertainment and games, to create a cheerful and relaxing environment.
The Ats is considering whether to make two dedicated days (in Nuoro it will probably be so) or whether to insert specific slots in normal days.
IN THE HOSPITAL - In the meantime, hospitalizations are growing: only at the Binaghi in Cagliari, the hospital that has replaced the Holy Trinity in assisting patients affected by the virus throughout the south of the island, there are sixty inpatients, 40% more than two weeks ago (on November 26 there were 42).
While it is true that most of the patients in Covid wards are not vaccinated, there is an increase in hospitalizations even among those who have completed the vaccination cycle. An expected effect, to be honest. "It is called the Simpson paradox and is linked to statistics, certainly not to the reasons supported by the no vaxes", explains Sergio Marracini, medical director of the single hospital unit of Cagliari. "The increase in hospitalizations of vaccinated patients is not to be referred to a lower efficacy of the vaccine, but to the fact that the number of vaccinated people far exceeds that of those who are not immunized, and there are always those who do not respond to vaccination or responds with less force to pre-existing pathologies ".
