Massimo Madonia, head of the Urology Clinic in Sassari, is under investigation for embezzlement.

The NAS, on orders from the Public Prosecutor's Office and the prosecutor Lara Senatore, have carried out several searches in recent days, both in the AOU clinic and in the homes of the professional, the secretary Francesco Piras, and the anesthetist Gabriella Tedde.

The investigation has been ongoing for several months, and the theory is that the professor was carrying out transactions for undeclared payment. The sums involved are believed to be in the thousands of euros.

The man's lawyer, Nicola Satta, declined to comment, and the professor himself could not be reached by phone.
