There were two objectives: to understand the extent of the damage and what kind of interventions needed to restore the apartment in a building of the Area agency, in via Verdi, in the peripheral area close to the sports field, which last 3 October was engulfed in flames.

In Uras there was a first meeting in the Municipality, followed by an inspection outside the building, between the mayor Samuele Fenu, the regional commissioner of the Area Antonello Melis, the regional councilor Emanuele Cera and the councilor for Culture and equal opportunity Luca Schirru. The commitment was to start shortly the interventions for the recovery of the accommodation . But not only. The municipal administration has also invited the regional commissioner Melis to intervene to make all the necessary improvements to the usability of the spaces outside the building and the extraordinary maintenance of all the accommodations present. But also to consider the possibility of being able to blackmail the apartments.

"There are still no precise timelines for the start of the works - comments the commissioner Schirru, present at the meeting - Before the start of the works there will be other inspections".

The flames last October 3 had started from one of the rooms on the first floor between midnight and one. In a short time they had also wrapped up a balcony in which there were some gas cylinders. As a precaution, the firefighters who arrived immediately on the spot had also cleared the neighboring apartments.
