«Hello carabinieri, I was under house arrest and I escaped. Take me to Uta.' The strange phone call arrived yesterday afternoon at the Arma switchboard and the soldiers of the Sant'Avendrace station in Cagliari immediately moved.

The caller was a thirty-four year old resident in via Is Cornalias , who was tracked down on the street shortly after. He had left his home to ask to be transferred to prison, he explained, because he could no longer bear the forced coexistence with his parents.

The carabinieri were ready to grant his request. But when he realized that a cell door would indeed open for him, the 34-year-old changed his mind. He avoided a cool stay, but a tax evasion complaint was still filed against him.
