There is another centenarian in Ogliastra, the land of longevity: aunt Virginia Melis celebrated her century of life today. She is the first from her country, Elini , to reach the milestone that is wished on the occasion of all birthdays in Sardinia, with the classic formula "a chent'annos".

The news was disclosed by the municipal administration of the center which has just under 600 residents.

"To our dear fellow citizen, a precious witness of a century of our history", we read, "the best wishes and affection from the Municipality and the whole community go".
