Two employees, one undeclared. A pastry shop in Elmas managed by a cooperative has been hit with a massive fine: operations suspended and a €4,450 fine for its legal representative.

The order was issued following an inspection by Carabinieri officers from the Cagliari Labor Inspectorate, which revealed that one of the two workers was working "without prior notification of the establishment of the employment relationship and without any social security or insurance coverage."

A quick calculation would have made it 50% of the workforce. In light of the violations found, a statement reads, "the Carabinieri applied the so-called ' maxi-sanction' for undeclared work, simultaneously suspending the business's activity and imposing administrative fines totaling €4,450."
