Left to live in inhumane conditions . Two twins were kept in total abandonment : instead of toys and a cozy bedroom , the siblings lived among garbage and dirt . A borderline situation in a small town in the Oristano area that continued for some time until the intervention of Social Services and the Police put an end to this condition. The complaint was filed , the parents are now on trial for mistreatment while the siblings (who were 3 years old at the time of the facts) were entrusted to a protected facility .

During the hearing before the preliminary hearings judge Federica Fulgheri and the prosecutor Silvia Mascia, a dramatic story was reconstructed in which the victims are two little twins. According to what emerged during the investigations, the children were left by their parents (both with drug addiction problems) in a state of degradation: they ate on the floor in their bedroom which was also used as a sort of bathroom . In fact, they were always forced to do their business in that environment; they almost never went out and the rare times they were taken out it was not for a cheerful walk but to go begging. An extreme condition that had been noticed by the neighbors who had reported the problems to the social workers. After several but useless attempts to meet with the parents, the intervention of the Police was requested. At that point the children were taken away and placed in a safe environment while for the parents a long legal case began which has now ended up in Court.

Lawyer Fabio Costa, who is assisting both, has proposed a plea bargain of a 3-year sentence for the mother and a shortened trial for the father (who is currently in prison for other crimes).
