Giovannino Pinna, the 35-year-old diver from Sassari who survived the shipwreck in the Gulf of Asinara, was investigated by the Public Prosecutor of Sassari . The accusation is of culpable shipwreck which took place in the stretch of water of Stintno on 12 April last.

He was on board the boat together with his 38-year-old cousin Davide Calvia, found lifeless last Saturday in the waters in front of the Rasciada tourist village , not far from Lu Bagnu, on the Castelsardo coast.

Both were on board the boat which sank on the afternoon of the 12th, just before 4pm, when the first SOS was launched. Subsequently, the searches coordinated by the Port Authority of Porto Torres were launched without success.

The day after, late in the evening, Pinna was found in critical condition on the beach of Platamona, discharged from hospital last Thursday, while Calvia's body was found ten days after the shipwreck . Yesterday the coroner Salvatore Lorenzoni performed an autopsy on the 38-year-old's body, keeping the results strictly confidential.
