«On February 28th we will take to the streets» .

Alessandra Todde calls for a mobilization against the transfer of prisoners under the 41 bis regime in Sardinia . She appeals to citizens, local administrators, unions, associations, and committees for a "broad and cross-party mobilization to defend the island from a decision that risks disproportionately affecting us."

The demonstration will take place on Saturday 28 February at 11am in Piazza Palazzo, Cagliari .

"We have always done and will continue to do our part in the fight against mafias and organized crime, but we cannot accept such an unbalanced distribution and a decision made without dialogue or consensus. Sardinia is not a peripheral country to which decisions made elsewhere can be transferred ," the president declared.

According to the State-Regions conference held on December 18, the prisons of Uta, Bancali, and Badu 'e Carros will become institutions exclusively dedicated to Article 41 bis. The island would eventually house more than 230 inmates, a third of all those under the special regime .

"It's a different kind of servitude, prison, " Todde emphasizes, calling for a "collective and united" voice to be raised from Sardinia. February 28th, he concludes, will be a day of "peaceful and orderly" mobilization, which "many" are joining.
