There are too many crosses on State Road 387, especially on the stretch from intersection 554 to Parteolla. Accidents, including some fatal ones, have been numerous over the past ten years, despite the traffic lights installed on the stretch of road in the Selargius area.

For years, local administrators have also been calling for safer roads, although not all accidents have been related to road conditions.

There has been much discussion about the need to widen the roadway to allow for the installation of guardrails in the center and on the sides. However, traffic has been improved at the junctions for Settimo, Dolianova, Serdiana, and the 466 road leading to Ussana and Monastir.

Meanwhile, the local police of the Parteolla and Basso Campidano Union of Municipalities are completing their investigations to reconstruct the circumstances of yesterday afternoon's accident, including the seizure of the two vehicles involved in yesterday's tragic accident that claimed the life of 63-year-old Dolianova chef Ignazio Floris . A mechanical inspection should therefore likely be performed on the vehicles to determine any faults, particularly on the victim's Polo, which ended up in the oncoming lane without leaving, according to initial investigations, any skid marks on the asphalt.

Ignazio Floris was returning home: he was driving a Polo that ended up in the oncoming lane just as an off-road vehicle driven by a 70-year-old man from Escalaplano was approaching, also carrying his 101-year-old father, a longtime resident of Pirri.

The alarm was raised immediately, with the arrival of ambulances and air ambulances. As mentioned, all attempts to save the cook were unsuccessful: he died after about twenty minutes.

By order of the magistrate, Dr. Rita Cariello, the body was removed and transferred to the Dolianova morgue for the family's funeral.
