Tragedy on the 128: a car driven by a 90-year-old man hits and kills a cyclist.

This afternoon, around 2:00 PM, a tragic road accident occurred on state highway 128, the road connecting Sorgono to Tonara.

An 80-year-old cyclist from the province of Vicenza was struck by a Fiat Panda driven by a 90-year-old local man. According to initial reports, which are still being examined by law enforcement, the collision occurred on a stretch of rural road. The precise cause of the accident has not yet been determined and will be investigated by the Carabinieri of the Tonara branch, who responded to the scene. Emergency medical services responded immediately, but despite attempts to resuscitate the cyclist, nothing could be done. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
