New details emerge on the 24-year-old young man found dead in the bathrooms of the Sassari station. Next to the body, lying on the floor, a syringe stained with blood, elements that suggest that the death was caused by an overdose, the sad scenario of yet another drug-related tragedy. The methods of finding the body, the troubled life of the young man, who ended up in the heroin tunnel after the separation of his parents, seem to leave no doubt, a hypothesis that will have to be confirmed by the official results of the autopsy.

The discovery had been made on Friday evening by one of the cleaners who had alerted Polfer, the railway police officers. Subsequently, the 118 health workers had done nothing but confirm his death.

Once again the problem of safety arises in railway stations, increasingly frequented by drug addicts and homeless people. The secretary of Filt Cgil Trasporti, Arnaldo Boeddu, underlines that "the surveillance and control service entrusted to Polfer should be strengthened, so that both the passengers waiting for their train and the people who work to maintain the dignity in the stations, or those who throughout the day they keep the waiting rooms as well as the bathrooms clean, they have the right to be quiet and safe ".

The cause would be the continuous cuts on cleaning and security services that have been perpetrated for over 15 years, making all train and bus stations less safe. "By now these places that should be waiting points for commuters - adds Boeddu - especially at particular times of the day have become very dangerous places".
