"We all want to find clean streets and beaches but no one is committed to doing so. We must not be afraid to ask for five euros more if we give value. Especially in the summer period, to develop adequately, tourism needs continuous work on quality, only in this way will we avoid overtourism".

The mayor of Olbia, Settimo Nizzi, speaks at the 18th Tourism Meeting , calling the city's tourism development emblematic, confirming its position on the podium of municipalities with the highest attendance and an active season that now exceeds six months. "This year, most of the venues closed after the All Saints weekend, but once again we should note the lack of sensitivity of those operators who still leave tables, chairs and umbrellas on public land. Last year I threatened to revoke the concession and reduce the spaces, this year we will move from threats to action ."

Fight against illegal activities, a warning to B&B managers . «All activities will be checked – Nizzi warned – first of all to check the quality of the spaces and secondly to avoid leaving waste on the street and withholding the tourist tax».

The mayor asked the residents of the center to be more tolerant towards venues that play music and create entertainment . On the environmental front, the mayor announced a study, commissioned by the University, on the quality of Olbia's beaches and what to do to protect them. On the occasion of the 18th Meeting of the city of Olbia, organized by "Una scuola sarda", on the morning of Sunday, November 17, Plastic Free organized an extraordinary collection. The meeting will be outside the archaeological museum at 9:00 from where we will set off towards via Escriva' equipped with gloves and, for those who want, telescopic tongs, where the waste collection will begin for about 1.5 km until reaching the rowing club.
