"An increase compared to 2023 in every segment". This is the trend of the tourism sector in Sardinia in 2024, highlighted by regional councilor Franco Cuccureddu. "Of +10% in the hotel sample, +10.7% of passengers in airports, +8.6% in ports, for a total of +9.8%", the data reported to inaugurate the participation of the Island in the International Tourism Exchange opened yesterday at Fiera Milano Rho.

Cuccureddu, as a novelty for 2025, took stock: « Sardinia will focus on the widespread hotel and on a season of major events ». For the two areas, 7.5 million have been allocated for the first, to which state resources are added, for a total of 8,785,500 euros; for the second, 20,818,000 euros have been made available to support 13 major events.

The councilor, at the beginning of his speech, also wanted to remember Prince Karim Aga Khan a week after his death: " Without him there would be no tourism. He is the one who with a far-sighted vision gave a different perception of Sardinia to the world ", the words of Cuccureddu in memory of the founder of the Costa Smeralda.
