No more good intentions and roundtable discussions: to grow tourism in Southern Sardinia, stable and shared governance is needed , capable of uniting institutions and businesses under a common vision. This is the message launched by Federalberghi Sud Sardegna during the meeting convened by Tourism Councilor Maria Francesca Chiappe to discuss the creation of a local tourism organization as part of the "Destination Cagliari" project.

The association recalled how over the past five years, numerous roundtable discussions have been held by various administrations, all with the same goal: to build a shared tourism governance strategy for the capital and the entire Southern Sardinia region. Now, however, " we have agreed that the time has finally come to move from words to action ," said Fausto Mura , president of Federalberghi Sud Sardegna , emphasizing the need to create a single tourism governance structure capable of pooling resources, visions, and expertise, following the model of other European cities that have established foundations or mixed public-private associations capable of coordinating events, promotion, and hospitality.

The proposal to create a Tourist Observatory with a view not only to the Municipality of Cagliari was also welcomed during the meeting.   but on the entire southern coast of Sardinia, from Teulada to Costa Rei, in   An intermunicipal alliance with a shared tourism protocol involving all coastal municipalities, with the aim of creating a recognizable and competitive territorial brand on international markets.

Attention was then drawn to the serious shortage of qualified labor and adequate training programs, which today represent one of the main obstacles to the growth and even survival of many local tourism businesses.
