Tortolì, exchange of the flag of San Gemiliano: Antonio Lai new president of the committee

Giuliano Selenu handed over the flag of San Gemiliano to Antonio Lai.

At 8pm today, in the home of the outgoing president of the committee, the historic ritual of exchanging the flag was renewed .

Antonio Lai, 67 years old, former employee of the Municipality of Tortolì, was elected president during the committee meeting held yesterday evening.

There was no shortage of emotional moments during the exchange of the flag, such as when the new president handed the flag over to his son Andrea to lead the procession that passed through the streets of the city center to reach Lai's home in Via Garibaldi.

The procession was marked by the sound of launeddas and accordion , in addition to the inevitable gunshots of the traditional cuettus.
