The first aircraft landed at 10.05 today to officially inaugurate the resumption of activities at Tortolì airport. It is an air taxi helicopter coming from Olbia. On board the vehicle, a Star Work Sky H125 airbus, managed by Eliwind Sardinia based in Alghero, a passenger from Bolzano awaiting a holiday stay in an accommodation facility in the area. The helicopter landed after 36 minutes of flight and left at 10.30.

«It is a beginning rather than an arrival», was the first comment by Rocco Meloni, managing director of Aliarbatax, the subsidiary of the industrial consortium which owns the infrastructure.

The airport, which was given the go-ahead by ENAC on Friday, had been closed since 2011. Four other small general aviation aircraft from the peninsula are expected during the day.
