The attack on the father, Pasquale Melis, a 67-year-old retired carabiniere, occurred during the night between February 1st and 2nd in Torpè, at the height of a family argument.
The father had been rushed to the San Francesco hospital in Nuoro, suffering serious injuries. For Antonio Melis, the public prosecutor Riccardo Belfiori, had requested a 10-year prison sentence for attempted murder and the recognition of the aggravating circumstance of parental ties, emphasizing that the medical examiner's report had highlighted the danger of the injuries for the father's life.
