Sardinia starts from the Tonara nougat festival, one of the most important events on the island. After two years of pandemic, the town of Barbagia, famous throughout Italy for its nougat, has been polished to welcome thousands of people from all over the region.

“Sardinia restarts and Tonara restarts with this festival - said the mayor Pierpaolo Sau - We return to normal after two difficult years for us and for everyone. We hope that the success of this festival, as it happened in the past, is a good omen for the whole season ”.

The clear sky and the mild temperature favored the arrival of thousands of people. The desire to return to normality, to stroll among the stands and stalls, to socialize is great. “We couldn't wait to be free again”, many say, even among the young people of Tonara who worked to organize the festival, like the rest of the country. There are those who arrived with their family, some in a group to spend a day under the sign of normality. Clearly, many, especially in the points with the greatest crowds, kept the mask on their face, ready to take it off to taste a piece of freshly prepared nougat or one of the typical Sardinian products that in Tonara as in all festivals there is no shortage.

Over 30 thousand presences are calculated, there was also the regional councilor Alessandra Zedda.
