An attempted robbery occurred overnight at the Mandas tobacco shop in Selargius, on Via San Martino. Around 1:51 a.m., the operations center of the private security company Sicurtecnica received an alarm signal from the business's system. The cameras captured four hooded men reversing in a van and hitting the shutter with a crowbar, breaking the lock.

Connected directly to the operations room, a security guard immediately activated the emergency procedure: dispatching a patrol, calling the Carabinieri, and notifying the owner. Meanwhile, the anti-robbery alarm was also activated, setting off the outside siren, forcing the gang to flee before they could break down the last access door.

Upon arriving at the scene on Via San Martino, security guards and Carabinieri found the shutter forced open and the van already fleeing. However, the vehicle was captured on video, which turned out to have foreign license plates.
