Sardinia covers the cost of the regional health service through its own budget. For our region, therefore, the issue isn't so much financial resources as staff availability, which is scarce and therefore requires careful management and planning, both now and in the immediate future. More resources are welcome, especially if they were to be allocated to Sardinia as well—this remains to be verified, as our island remains excluded from the redistribution of the health fund's margins. But we need to understand where the right professionals are located; for example, it would be useful to open calls for applications from outside the country.

This was stated by Health Councillor Armando Bartolazzi regarding Health Minister Orazio Schillaci's statements on nursing hiring and the role of the Regions.

"Nurses are at the heart of the budget: 20,000 more will be hired than the natural turnover," said the government official. This is not 6,300, as announced at the press conference at Palazzo Chigi upon approval of the budget.

But Sardinia risks being left out of the equation, as highlighted by Councilor Bartolazzi, who added: " It's also important to focus on competitive wages and differentiated benefits, just as it's crucial to financially recognize the greater physical and emotional burden of those working on the front lines. It's these differences in context and commitment that, in my opinion, should be the basis for more equitable and meritocratic compensation."
