From 1 January , if no new events occur, over 2,000 people in the villages of Marghine will be left without medical assistance .

A dramatic situation, highlighted by the mayors of the area, in particular by the mayor of Noragugume, Rita Zaru, who asked for the intervention of Emergency. The regional councilor for health, in fact, communicated that, according to the provisions of the regional law, the activity of the doctors employed in the Usca cannot be extended beyond the deadline of 31 December . Until now, the same doctors have also been employed in municipalities where general practitioners were lacking.

A few hours a week, but that presence was still a guarantee. Gian Pietro Arca, president of the Union of Municipalities writes: «Let me ask the regional health councilor two simple questions: starting from 1 January 2023 who will provide basic medical assistance to the over 2,000 people of Marghine who currently find themselves, in spite of themselves, without a general practitioner? Who will have to take care of assisting patients positive for Covid-19, given the new variant that is spreading in China and considering that there is a lack of general practitioners in our area?».

Rita Zaru, faced with this serious situation, asks for the intervention of Emergency . «I ask for your availability - writes the mayor - to prepare a basic medicine clinic in my country, but also for the entire resident population in order to guarantee the essential service that is denied to us. I appeal to your principle of solidarity and respect for human rights". Among other things, the mayor adds: "We are aware of being alone in having to face an increasingly growing emergency and not being able to provide answers to those who need them".
