After 15 months of waiting in the mortuary of the cemetery of Villaperuccio, the urn containing the ashes of Genesio Pinna was able to have a worthy burial. Until now it had been postponed due to some bureaucratic problems.

It was July 2021, when the courier delivered a package to the municipality of Villaperuccio. Obviously, no one would have ever thought that inside the package there was the urn containing the ashes of Genesio Pinna, who emigrated to Germany many years ago and who, before dying, had expressed the desire to be buried in his native country. From there the report to the Public Prosecutor's Office, as the casket arrived with a death certificate but without a seal and other necessary documents that are issued by the consulate. Therefore, in these more than 14 months we had to wait for the go-ahead from the Public Prosecutor who in recent days has issued the authorization for the burial. It took place just yesterday, in the presence of some relatives who live in Villaperuccio while family members who live in Germany, for personal reasons, could not be present. Also present was the mayor Marcellino Piras: "Finally this story is over - he said - and our fellow countryman will be able to rest in peace".
