The search for Francesca Deidda's body continues , reaching a decisive point today. The countryside in the area of the old Eastern Sardinia was searched , where personal objects and traces of blood were found, perhaps from the woman who disappeared in San Sperate. A dental bite with its case, a beauty case, the fragment of a sweatshirt stuck in the bushes, a bathrobe and traces of blood on a rock : these are the elements recovered by the Carabinieri of the Iglesias Company, Hunters of Sardinia, technicians and operators of the Alpine rescue, fire brigade teams, civil protection, volunteers and forestry corps.
The hope of being able to identify the 42-year-old, of whom there has been no definitive news since May, is therefore not extinguished. According to the Cagliari Prosecutor's Office, she was killed by her husband Igor Sollai, a 43-year-old lorry driver, currently in prison on charges of aggravated voluntary homicide and concealment of a corpse. The team working on Deidda's trail was impressive: over a hundred people passed inch by inch across a mountainous area between Sinnai and San Vito , concentrating in the locality of San Priamo, near kilometer 35 of the old Sardinian state road 125 Orientale, not too far away. from the Roman bridge, where the cell phone of the woman and her husband were hooked up, and then turned off at the same time. The searches started from that exact point, shortly afterwards various objects attributable to her were found, which will soon be analyzed in the presence of the consultants appointed by the lawyers defending Sollai, Carlo Demurtas and Laura Pirarba.
The searches ended in the late afternoon and will resume further downstream tomorrow. The area was closed and the Ris Carabinieri and the magistrate coordinating the investigations, Marco Cocco, arrived on site. Sollai's lawyers reiterated that "he is very distressed ", underlining that they spoke with him for four hours, going over the disputes. A new interrogation is scheduled for tomorrow at 6pm .
In the meantime, the program “ Who has seen it?” ”, which is following the case, broadcast some previews of this evening's episode , with the interview with Sollai two days before the arrest. The man, who had not reported his wife's disappearance, explained that «she had actually spoken to my brother-in-law, then at a certain point he didn't hear from her anymore, he got worried and made the report. We were on break."
