Special testimonials, who get excited when they look at them. There are those who wear swimming trunks, those who hold the basketball in their hand but also those who show pride after wearing the suit to dive underwater. The goals are different: to shout as much as possible that sport is for everyone, that it's good for everyone, but also to make Paralympic sports better known.
The city of Oristano, but also several neighboring towns, is full of young people who are part of the Sea Scout group, the Oristano social cooperative that carries out educational and social inclusion activities through sport for people with motor disabilities and cognitive disadvantages.
Since yesterday, the "I am Sea Scout" initiative has been on display, a billboard campaign to reaffirm the importance of sporting activity, especially for people with intellectual-relational disadvantages. The protagonists are all twenty boys.
«Sporting activity is the main tool that Sea Scout has chosen to give substance to its mission: to create the minimum autonomy for independence within a community, and social acceptance - the cooperative informs -. Furthermore, thanks above all to sports, children with disabilities learn to know and recognize the emotions of others and their own: swimming, diving, athletics, climbing, excursions, and the many seasonal projects are tools with which the 'athletes' and their coaches pursue a goal that does not want to be easy but which is made possible with the Sea Scout methodology».
