The cleaning and reclamation of the dirt road of Is Mirrionis (owned by the regional state property) adjacent to the Italo Stagno school and in front of the Cus fields began this morning. The workers are weeding the lawn and removing the large amount of waste accumulated over the years (of all kinds, including polluting ones). Grazia Martis lives almost opposite the dirt road: «It took a long time, let's hope it's not like many other jobs that start and never finish. I want to be optimistic ». Giandomenico Cossu, who has lived in via Cadello for 50 years, over the years has made many of those reports that he does not even remember how many: «When they answered, they said that the reclamation interventions would start shortly, then months, years would pass. Finally we see the facts, better late than never ».

An asphalted car park could be built, in agreement between the Region, Ats and the Municipality. Already now the cars of the staff of the Holy Trinity park there, given that since May, in the area outside the hospital, works have begun that have prohibited access to the cars of the hospital staff. And it was decided to find the dirt road as an alternative.

Edoardo Tocco, president of the municipal council, was there this morning on the spot: «Cleaning this site from a very serious deterioration was a duty to the city and its citizens as well as to the Stagno school, where there are many children. I was solicited as were the mayor, the council and the councilors all. I thank the regional state property service that has been activated with diligence, the mayor, the council and the whole Council. When it comes to the well-being and image of the city, we work together, the majority and the opposition, and that is what has been done. I hope that the dispute between the Region and the company that had won the contract at the time will be resolved so that the Tuvixeddu-Tuvumannu park will be built ».

When asked how to keep the place clean, he replies: «It is not easy to educate a certain type of people to clean and healthy the environment. We will evaluate whether to put some cameras ». Tocco then adds that "the Municipal Police is already working to identify the owners of abandoned cars, including the carcasses, in order to be able to remove them". Also present at the inspection was the councilor Marcello Polastri: «The cleaning comes after months of appeals to the Region which, for bureaucratic reasons, obviously could not intervene. I thank, together with President Edoardo Tocco, "also the mayor and the councilors who have done their utmost over time to support the cleaning of the area".
