The Metropolitan City of Cagliari ranked first in the ranking of the "Luigi Crespellani Prize", awarded by the Region to the local authorities that have most distinguished themselves for their capacity for organizational innovation in the management of services for citizens.

The Metropolitan City was awarded the first prize, equal to 35 thousand euros, with the "Contract of the Lagoon" project, the operational tool that aims to redevelop the Santa Gilla lagoon in order to preserve it and make it usable by citizens and by the stakeholders of the territory.

The financial resources of the Crespellani Prize will be used to strengthen system actions and the participation of local communities interested in the project, with a view to raising awareness and involvement of citizens in the regeneration of the lagoon.

"This award honors us and encourages us on the path we have taken", comments the metropolitan councilor delegated to the Environment Roberto Mura. "We want the whole territory to feel protagonist and responsible for the protection and development of the Santa Gilla Lagoon, favoring its growth in environmental, economic, tourist and historical terms".
