The process of the decree on areas suitable for hosting plants for the production of energy from renewable sources begins today, in the fourth Territorial Government commission with the hearing of the local authorities councilor Francesco Spanedda.

«In these 180 days – explains President Todde – we will define where the plants will have to be placed, what the role of the regional energy company will be and how the communities will have to be involved , who will freely decide to host these plants».

The governor's warning to the assault on agricultural land : "It happened in the past and it must not happen again." Furthermore, he continues, "local communities must not be abused" and, above all, " our primary assets, sun and wind, must be a resource for the Sardinians and not exploited for the benefit of others as happened in the past".

Todde concludes by clarifying the majority's position: «We are for the ecological transition, but it must be done in the right places, not against the Municipalities . The plants must be placed in the appropriate areas and compensation measures must be defined where necessary, as well as a role for the Region with its regional energy company."
