Death threats to the president of the Tangenziale 291 Committee Donato Capuano who, in Alghero, is asking for improvements to the route of the new arterial road still under construction.

An anonymous A4 sheet of paper appeared in his mailbox: "You're pissing me off with this ring road, be careful if you don't want to die on the ring road..." A truly intimidating message that was immediately reported to the police.

"I learn with dismay and concern of the serious threat received by the president of the Tangenziale 291 Committee. I want to express to Donato Capuano all the support and solidarity from me and the entire Administration for the vile act perpetrated against him: when freedom of action and expression, especially if implemented with a great sense of responsibility and respect, as in the case of Donato and the other members of the Committee, we are faced with an unacceptable attack on the foundations of democracy itself" , commented Mayor Raimondo Cacciotto.

"Everyone must feel safe in expressing their thoughts out loud, even when they are bearers of dissent, and a society that considers itself civil cannot avoid accepting diversity and the awareness that dialogue, discussion and listening are the only tools capable of guaranteeing harmony and a healthy and fruitful coexistence" , continues the mayor.
