In the renowned Quartello neighborhood, just steps from the sea, you'd expect well-kept flowers and trees, but instead, overgrown weeds and plants block the pedestrian walkway. The new plants were planted a few years ago after the trees were cut down, their roots lifting the pavement, but maintenance isn't done regularly these days.

Marina Lattanzi, president of the Quartello Spontaneous Committee, denounced the situation, saying: "This isn't just about decorum; it's about safety. On Via Andorra, you can't use the sidewalk and are forced to step onto the road, with all the risks that entails." There's also a daycare center nearby. "And the daily presence of children, parents, and pedestrians makes this situation even more delicate and cannot be underestimated. We've already reported it to the municipality, but the issue hasn't been resolved yet." The fact remains that "when safety is at stake, you can't wait for something serious to happen before intervening. This situation requires urgent action that can no longer be postponed. Pedestrian safety, especially near a daycare center, must be a priority."
