The Municipality of Stintino takes a strong position against defamation and the spread of false news regarding one of the most beautiful beaches in Sardinia.

Recently, a Facebook page posted an image that represented a beach full of rubbish, posing as the photo of the famous La Pelosa. However, the Municipality of Stintino has decided to take action against the spread of false news that undermines the reputation of the tourist resort, denouncing the author of the fake news for defamation .

The mayor Rita Vallebella declared: « The image represented is a clear fake. La Pelosa beach is protected by strict rules which, in addition to providing for a limited number of visitors, contemplate a capillary environmental control action with steep penalties for transgressors. Therefore, I inform the computer defamator that I have proceeded to present a detailed complaint against him and I advance him the will of the Municipality to form a civil party in the criminal proceedings against him".

The municipal administration invites everyone to be wary of the spread of false news and to always verify the source before sharing information on social media. The protection of the environment and the preservation of natural beauty are a priority for the Municipality and for the local community.
