The new bridge over the Rio Turrualè was inaugurated in San Teodoro

The new bridge over the Rio Turrualè was inaugurated this morning in San Teodoro , a much awaited work in the center of Gallura as a link to the Isuledda beach , one of the best known and most popular in the area.

The mayor Rita Deretta , who wanted to share the closure of a long bureaucratic process with her predecessors of the Board of Domenico Mannironi, cut the ribbon: "Today I asked for the participation of some representatives of the old administration because when bridges are built they are never only physical bridges and this was a multi-handed work, a project by all that also reminds us of a difficult event like that of the flood of 2009. "In September of that year, the flood swept and destroyed this and another little bridge " This new structure - he added - unites the community even more with a further connection between the town and the sea".

Present at the ceremony alongside the mayor also the municipal councilor for public works, Cristian Folino , and the commissioner of Nuoro, Alfonso Polverino ; the regional councilors for Planning and Local Authorities, Giuseppe Fasolino and Quirico Sanna , and the regional councilor for Public Works, Aldo Salaris . "We cut the ribbon of a very important work not only in terms of tourism but also and above all for the safety of the territories and for the roads, since it connects several important areas of San Teodoro", explained the commissioner Salaris.

"This is a small big important work from an economic and social point of view that it was essential to do quickly", added the councilor for planning, Fasolino, who also ensured financial coverage, through the territorial planning process, for the construction of the cycle path that will run alongside the bridge . The councilor of local authorities, Quirico Sanna, also spoke about the work necessary for the area, highlighting the repercussions for the area and the commitment and attention shown by the Region for the realization of the infrastructure: "Despite the long process and the extended times, once the work was taken over, this council tried to speed up as much as possible to allow the Municipality to inaugurate it and put it at the service of the community".

The new bridge over the Rio Turrualè is the result of a funding of 230 thousand euros from regional funds to which has been added an integration of municipal funds for 120 thousand euros, for a total of 350 thousand euros. The structure consists of 3 spans of 5 meters each and has a total length of 17.40 meters by 7 wide . The project was launched in 2017 with the inclusion of the work in the strategic planning framework of the Region for hydrogeological risk mitigation interventions. After the approval of the executive project a year ago, the negotiated tender procedure was concluded in December 2021, in which 165 companies expressed interest.

From today the bridge towards the Isuledda is officially open but the last piece will be the construction of the cycle path.
