The columns of military vehicles must pass, stopping the long-awaited safety works of the provincial road 2, which connects the Cagliari area to the Sulcis.

The communication was sent by the Prefecture of the capital to the province of Southern Sardinia, led by Commissioner Mario Mossa. The institution had planned to open the construction site immediately after May 1st: "An initial intervention of 700 thousand euros for the reconstruction of the fund and the road sub-base", explains Mossa. New asphalt, therefore, and a new base on which to spread it, to avoid dips, which are dangerous especially in the event of rain. Soon after, a 1.3 million job was also planned, to complete the whole road.

Nothing will be done for the whole month of May: the Open Sea exercise is underway, tomorrow the NATO Noble Jump 2023 exercise begins, and a few days later the (war) dances for the Joint Stars will begin.

A trifecta of maneuvers that involves the passage of numerous convoys loaded with weapons and materials directed towards the Teulada shooting range. The construction site of the Province would be in the way. And the suspension takes place. Even if it is one of the most dangerous roads in the area, dotted with crosses.

The new asphalt would not solve the critical issues, but it would help: " We have also obtained the ministerial derogation", announces the commissioner, "even if the road is not wide enough, we have been given the go-ahead for the installation of the traffic guardrail: shortly the design". Meanwhile, the offices, given the imposed stoppage, "are at work to merge the first two interventions, for a total of two million euros". But it will not be possible to start work before June 3: in the meantime, there are soldiers.
