The market in Via Quirra reopens one day early, tomorrow, Tuesday 13 August .

Massimo Zedda has revoked his own order which had ordered its closure for two days "as a consequence of the organizational difficulties caused by a recent serious act of intimidation against an employee of the Municipality of Cagliari" working at the market, whose car had been set on fire .

Today, representatives of the municipal administration, led by the mayor, met with representatives of the Market Operators Committee.

After the firm condemnation of the "vile act of intimidation", both parties committed to guaranteeing market workers " a peaceful and inclusive working environment, in the mutual interest of operators, dealers and citizens ". The institutionalization of today's table was also established as the only place to analyze market problems.

The committee for its part has committed to intervene with the same colleagues to calm any tensions that may arise. At the same time, the Administration has promptly taken action to allow the revocation of the ordinance and the reopening of the market in consideration of the fruitful and collaborative dialogue held between the parties

The opposition attacked Zedda for his decision to close the market: "A dangerous precedent has been set, as if when a teacher or a doctor were targeted, schools and hospitals should be closed ," declared Corrado Meloni , regional councilor and provincial director of FdI.
